Cloud computing jobs are among the fastest-growing careers in the tech industry.
Here are 5 most in-demand Cloud roles that you could consider for your next career journey.
#1 Sales Development Representative (SDR)
SDRs play a key role in identifying potential customers and communicating how the company's Cloud solutions can help address their needs.
To become an SDR, having good research and communication skills are important because you need to build strong relationships with customers.
Having a strong understanding of Cloud services will also help you stand out as an applicant to be able to suggest Cloud products that align with the customers’ business goals.
The average salary for this role is $160,000 in the US.*
#2 Solutions Architect
Solutions Architects are responsible for designing Cloud solutions that are tailored towards the specific needs of a customer.
They work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and business goals to build Cloud solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
The skills required to be a Solutions Architect are:
Technical – IT fundamentals and Cloud technologies
Non-technical – Communication and problem-solving
If you enjoy working with customers and designing technical solutions, then this role could be a great career choice.
The average salary for this role is $162,000 in the US.*
#3 Cloud Architect
Cloud Architects are responsible to create the architectural plans designed by Solutions Architects by coding and configuring applications.
This means that you have to have strong programming skills and a deeper understanding of IT fundamentals and Cloud services.
Being a Cloud Architect could be suitable if you enjoy developing solutions based on technical designs.
The average salary for this role is $201,000 in the US.*
#4 Cloud Support Engineer
Cloud Support Engineers ensure that Cloud environments run smoothly after solutions have been implemented, and help customers resolve issues efficiently.
This role is a great fit for those who like helping others by solving technical problems in a dynamic environment.
The average salary for this role is $153,000 in the US.*

Being a Cloud Security Engineer requires you to have a strong background in cybersecurity, knowledge in security best practices, and firewalls.
If you enjoy mitigating risk and have a strong attention to detail, this role could be right for you.
