Hi friends, welcome back to Cloudbites
In this newsletter, I’m breaking down 5 reasons you’re not getting hired in cloud (yet).
You’ll learn what’s actually holding you back, and how to fix it.
Plus, we’ll look at why Anthropic’s latest AI model is raising cybersecurity concerns.

5 Reasons You're Not Getting Hired In The Cloud ❌
If you’ve been applying to cloud jobs and hearing nothing back…
Chances are, you’re making the same mistakes over and over again.
And it’s not your fault. Most of the online advice about landing cloud jobs is outdated.
In 2026, that approach doesn’t work anymore.
I’ve noticed 5 main reasons job-seekers aren't getting hired for cloud roles.
Some are within our control, and some are not.
🎥 Watch the full breakdown:
🎥 Check out my video 5 Reasons You’re Not Getting Hired in Cloud, where I break down each of these in detail.
🔍 What’s Actually Going Wrong
Let’s break it down:
#1 The Cloud Industry has changed
In 2026:
Entry-level hiring at big tech firms has decreased,
Mass layoffs are affecting the entire tech industry,
Cloud roles exist, but it’s hard to get in without prior working experience.
👉 Acknowledge and accept this industry shift and start playing by the 2026 rules.
#2: You're moving too slowly
Tech is moving rapidly, and new AI tools are launching every week.
If you’re still learning the same way you did a few years ago, you’re not moving fast. You have to start using AI to 10x your learning speed and productivity.
#3 Nobody in the industry knows your name (yet)
You need some level of visibility. Even if it just means having a LinkedIn profile that you post in occasionally.
Focus on building genuine connections.
Engage with someone's content.
Ask thoughtful questions.
And share your perspectives.
#4 You're learning Cloud in isolation
Learning by yourself feels productive, but it limits growth.
Cloud is one of those fields where the community is one of your biggest assets. Leave your comfort zone, attend local cloud meetups, or find a study buddy.
#5 You're too focused on the job title.
Some of the best entry points into the cloud aren't cloud roles at all.
If you've been laser-focused on applying only to cloud roles, it’s time to zoom out a little. Look at what else is open at the companies you're targeting.

🚨 PLUS: Anthropic’s New AI Raises Cybersecurity Concerns
Anthropic has introduced a new AI model called Mythos, and early findings suggest it could significantly impact cybersecurity.
💡 Here’s what you should know:
Advanced Capability: Anthropic says the model can find and exploit software vulnerabilities, in some cases beyond most human experts.
Autonomous Behavior: The UK AI Security Institute found that it can carry out multi-step cyberattack simulations without human intervention.
Government Focus: US officials have already met with major banks to assess risks linked to models like Mythos.
Big Implication: As AI becomes better at coding, it can also expose system vulnerabilities faster, making cybersecurity a growing priority.
THAT’S A WRAP
