📚 5 Steps to Pass Any AWS Certification
Have you been thinking about getting AWS certified?
It can feel very overwhelming at first - from picking a certification, to finding the best resources to study, and then taking the exam. Taking the first step always feels intimidating.
You can combat this by having a well-thought-out plan before immersing yourself in studying, so that you don’t end up wasting time on the wrong things.
Here’s a guide that will ensure you pass any AWS Certification:
#1 Pick the right AWS certification for you
Start off by considering what your reason for taking a certification course is.
What do you hope this certification will help you achieve in the long term?
E.g., If you’re a complete beginner wanting to strengthen your cloud basics, you might want to consider the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification.
Alternatively, if you’re a working professional who already has a few years of experience under their belt, taking the AWS Solutions Architect Certification might be the right fit for you.
So you should first start off by doing some research on which learning path would lead to the ideal outcome for you, and then make a decision.
#2 Choose the right material for study
Every AWS certification has a ton of courses out there to teach you the details you need to pass the exam.
Pick a reputable platform like Udemy, and then read the reviews of different courses.
Watch a couple of the free videos that most courses provide and choose a course where the teacher best suits your style of learning.
#3 Getting hands-on experience
The best way to learn something is by putting it to use.
Make sure to create a free AWS account and use the free tier to get hands-on experience.
Build real world projects to ensure that you are able to use what you have studied. There are also exercises available that will help you test everything you have learnt.
💡 Tip: Check out my course on 5 beginner AWS Cloud projects where i walk you through five fun AWS projects you can complete in just a few hours.
#4 Taking practice exams and reviewing mistakes
Make sure you solve 2-3 official practice exams before sitting for certification exams - this will make sure you feel comfortable during the actual exam.
Practicing solving official exercises will ensure that you are not taken by surprise by the types of questions.
It will also give you a feel of how much time you should allocate to solving each question.
#5 Joining communities that have people with similar goals
Taking on an AWS Certification can be quite challenging at times. Joining communities on LinkedIn, Discord or Reddit can help you stay motivated.
These communities offer a platform to connect with like minded people and share your progress.
This will also be a great way to keep yourself updated about any new AWS services, best practices and changes to the exam.

Do you struggle to stay focused while studying?
Google can now turn your notes into a podcast using AI, which can help you grasp concepts more easily.
It does this with the help of NotebookLM App, which generates a discussion between two AI podcast hosts.
Rather than having a boring discussion between two people, the app adds banter and fun to the conversation to make it more interesting!
So, if you feel like you learn better with audio as opposed to just reading something, this app may be perfect for you.
THAT’S A WRAP
