What if the right cloud job for you isn’t the one everyone talks about?

Most people think of cloud careers as either DevOps or Solutions Architect.

But there’s a lot more to cloud than that. There are roles for people who enjoy teaching, writing, solving problems, or helping teams stay on budget.

These are the paths that don’t always show up on your LinkedIn feed, but they’re just as real and in demand.

Here are 5 of them.

#1 Cloud Technical Instructor

This role focuses on teaching others how to use cloud tools, through courses, videos, blogs, or live workshops.

Ideal for those who enjoy simplifying complex topics and helping learners build real confidence in the cloud.

#2 Cloud Support Engineer

This role involves troubleshooting cloud issues like server errors or networking misconfigurations.

A strong fit for those who enjoy hands-on problem-solving and learning through real-world challenges.

#3 Cloud FinOps Specialist

This role is about monitoring cloud spending, identifying waste, and helping teams stay on budget.

Well suited to those who enjoy analysis, optimization, and making smart cost decisions.

#4 Cloud Solutions Analyst

This role compares cloud services, evaluates performance, and recommends the best-fit solutions based on business goals.

A great match for those who enjoy research and translating technical options into clear decisions.

#5 Cloud Security Analyst

This role focuses on protecting cloud environments by spotting risks early and strengthening security posture.

Best for those who enjoy working at the intersection of technology, safety, and continuous improvement.

📝 Note: It’s okay to take a different route

Not every cloud job looks the same.
