🤓 How to Get Ahead of 99% of Cloud Learners

The rising demand for AWS and Cloud solutions has attracted many individuals to enter and seek career opportunities in the Cloud.

But how do you stand out amongst other job seekers?

Here are 5 strategies that the top 1% of Cloud learners use:

#1 Work with a goal in mind

Whenever you work on something, it’s very helpful to picture the end result. Having a clear end goal helps you stay focused.

Visualizing what you’d like to achieve—like landing a dream role—can keep you motivated through challenges.

For instance, if you're aiming to be a Cloud Support Engineer, focus on skills like troubleshooting and Cloud infrastructure rather than getting distracted by less relevant areas like UI/UX design.

#2 Leverage AI

AI is transforming the world, especially the Cloud industry. Treating AI tools as your ally could help you succeed faster.

You can use AI in creating a personalized learning plan, finding learning resources, and even quizzing yourself for AWS certification exams.

If you’d like to know more about how to utilize AI for Cloud learning, check out my YouTube video on How to Learn AWS Cloud FAST Using ChatGPT.

#3 Build real-world projects

Although theoretical knowledge is valuable, honing your practical Cloud skills by having hands-on experience is important to impress potential employers.

You can start small by following tutorials on beginner-friendly Cloud projects like building a daily task scheduler.

Once you’ve built several guided projects, you can expand your comfort zone by selecting more complex and personalized projects.

#4 Stay up to date with industry updates

AWS and other Cloud providers are always releasing new services and updates. To stay ahead of the curve, you must keep up with these changes.

One thing you could do to remain updated is to subscribe to newsletters like this one and receive the latest news in the industry.

You could also consider attending local and virtual events to elevate your visibility in the Cloud community.

#5 Prepare for interviews

Skills and certifications are important, but it is your interview performance that determines your career progression.

You’ll be asked both technical and behavioral questions, so it's important to prepare—and for companies like AWS, understanding their leadership principles is a must.

By knowing this in advance, you’ll have more time to prepare examples from past experiences that demonstrate your problem-solving and communication skills.
