Hi friends, welcome back to Cloudbites

Today, I’ll share some strategies to enhance your career prospects in the Cloud. I’ll also be sharing some factors to consider before learning Cloud, as well as an update on Microsoft’s new tool that could fix AI-generated errors.

CLOUD COMPUTING ☁️

👩🏻‍💻 How to Find Cloud Opportunities

The cloud computing industry is growing, which means that there are many opportunities for those wanting to advance their careers.

Whether you’re new to the field or looking to elevate your job prospects, here’s how you can discover your Cloud opportunity.

#1 Networking

Building a strong network in the Cloud is essential because it not only opens doors to job offers, but updates on latest industry trends.

You can start by attending industry events, webinars, and meetups to connect with professionals and experts.

Engaging in online communities, like LinkedIn groups or specialized forums, will also be helpful as you can exchange knowledge and seek advice.

#2 Career Sites

You can also seek Cloud opportunities through career sites like Indeed, Glassdoor, and Stack Overflow Jobs.

I’d recommend you to customize your profile and turn on notifications for specific roles and keywords to stay informed about new job openings.

Not to forget, checking the career pages of companies you’re interested in is always a great starting point since some positions are posted exclusively on their websites.

#3 Upskilling (Certifications and Online Courses)

Another way to increase your career prospects is through pursuing certifications from major Cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Microsoft Azure to show employers that you have a solid understanding of the Cloud.

Online learning platforms such as Coursera, Udemy, and Pluralsight also offer a range of courses that cater to different skill levels to help you develop your knowledge and industry practices.

By upskilling, you not only improve your employability but also gain confidence in your Cloud capabilities.

#4 Personal Branding (Cloud Portfolio & Resume)

Last but not least, having a strong personal branding will help your future employers identify your skills and values easily.

You can start by creating a Cloud portfolio that showcases your projects, skills, and certifications. You can even utilize platforms like GitHub and/or LinkedIn to share your work and enhance your professional presence.

At the same time, reviewing your resume and making sure that it highlights your relevant experience and accomplishments are also essential to create a lasting impression on your future employers.

📓 Pros and Cons of Learning Cloud in 2024

#1 Complexity of Cloud Computing

The Cloud is much more than just learning a platform like AWS or Azure. Because companies are looking for candidates who can not only use Cloud services, but also understand the broader applications of cloud computing within IT.

Learning the Cloud will help you develop a strong foundation in not only Cloud, IT, and AI, but also strategic thinking.

However, the amount of knowledge you need to understand might be overwhelming without a proper study plan.

#2 AI and Cloud Computing

With the rise of AI, there is potential for AI to replace some jobs. But this overlooks the fact that cloud computing is part of what makes AI possible.

In the Cloud market, there’s still plenty of room for growth now that AI will continue to require more Cloud resources, so cloud computing skills will continue to be in-demand.

However, it also means that competition has increased as more people enter the Cloud space for job opportunities.

#3 Gaining Certifications

Certifications are a great way to showcase your skills and credibility in the Cloud. However, most of the exams are multiple-choice quizzes that don’t necessarily assess your actual understanding and way of thinking.

Certifications can enhance your resume and demonstrate your commitment to learning and professional development.

Certifications alone are not enough to land a Cloud roles because companies are looking for candidates with hands-on experiences through Cloud projects that allow them to apply their understanding in real-life.

🤫 PLUS: Microsoft’s ‘Safety Feature’ Can Correct AI Inaccuracies

Microsoft just launched a new feature called “correction” that builds on the company’s efforts to combat AI inaccuracies.

💡Here’s what you need to know:

  • The feature is currently in preview within Azure AI Studio, a suite of safety tools that detect vulnerabilities and block harmful prompts

  • It can automatically identify incorrect content by comparing AI outputs against the user’s source material

  • The system highlights inaccuracies, explains the errors, and rewrites the content before users see the original mistakes

Through this new feature, users can now power their AI systems and use the capability to automatically detect and rewrite incorrect content in AI outputs.
