Hi friends, welcome back to Cloudbites

In this newsletter, I’ll be breaking down five predictions for the future of AWS and Cloud as we head towards 2027.

We'll explore how AI is changing entry-level Cloud jobs and why multi-cloud is becoming more important.

Plus, we’ll take a look at OpenAI’s new AI agents, Dots.

CLOUD COMPUTING ☁️

☁️ The Future of AWS Cloud: 5 Predictions for 2027

AWS is investing heavily in infrastructure as AI demand continues to grow.

We're entering a pretty interesting period for Cloud. AI is changing the work Cloud engineers do.

Companies are becoming more open to multi-cloud, and the amount of compute needed to power AI is creating new infrastructure challenges.

So, what could Cloud look like by 2027?

🎥 Check out my video on 5 predictions for the future of AWS Cloud, where I break down the five changes I think could have the biggest impact.

💡 5 Things That Could Change Cloud by 2027

Here are five predictions about how Cloud could change:

#1 Entry-Level Cloud Jobs Will Change

AI will automate more basic cloud tasks, so knowing how to work with AI will become increasingly important.

#2 Most AI Agent Projects Will Fail

Not every problem needs an AI agent. As companies build more agents, we’ll also need tools and people to monitor and manage them.

#3 AWS-Only Skills Could Become a Red Flag

Multi-cloud is becoming more important. Understanding cloud fundamentals may matter more than knowing every AWS-specific service.

#4 Power Is Becoming the Biggest Bottleneck

AI needs huge amounts of compute, and compute needs power. Getting enough energy for data centers could become a major challenge.

#5 Robots Are the Next Big Thing

AI is moving beyond screens and into the physical world. With AWS, AI models, and Amazon’s robotics investments, robots could become a much bigger part of the Cloud story.

The takeaway? Cloud isn't going away, but the skills we need to work in Cloud could change a lot by 2027.

☁️ Online AI & Cloud Events to Look Forward to

🤯 PLUS: OpenAI’s Dots Can Work Without You

OpenAI has launched Dots, a new type of AI agent designed to work independently in the background and handle tasks with minimal oversight.

Instead of just responding to prompts, Dots can work toward a goal continuously, and OpenAI says multiple Dots could eventually work together as a team.

💡 Here's what you should know:

  • Dots are powered by GPT-6 Astra and can run from ChatGPT or Codex.

  • They can be given specific tools, identities, and credentials to handle different jobs.

  • Dots can work through platforms like Slack and Teams.

  • OpenAI is positioning them for tasks like monitoring customer feedback, fixing bugs, and analysing new data.

This is another big step toward AI agents that don't just answer questions, but actually get work done for you.
